Our Community
Dancers of the Chicago Repertory Ballet Youth Ensemble at the Ballet Bash: Capulet’s Ball!
This October, our students put on an enchanting performance of Snow White in the beautiful Annex Performance space!
DMA mothers and daughters had nothing but fun at the GBS Homecoming Party!
Dancers attended the Broadway in Chicago: Lion King master class with Yuka Notsuka!
Yuka Notsuka is from Fukuoka, Japan and is currently on The Lion King North America Tour. She is a graduate of The Ailey School’s Scholarship program, and continues to train and educate others at Luigi’s Jazz Centre under her mentor, Francis J. Roach. Her credits include: CATS: Broadway North American Tour: Victoria | South Pacific National Tour: Liat | An American in Paris National Tour. She also served Bob Fosse’s DANCIN’ Broadway production as its Choreographic Reconstruction Assistant. Production Company work has seen her at Walt Disney World, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Ailey Spirit Gala Concert at Lincoln Center and Universal Studios Japan.
Kasia W., one of our wonderful DMA parents, designed an adorable Coppelia craft at our recent Ballet Community Night!
DMA & GBS Titan Poms co-hosted Unite For The Cure, where students banded together to raise over $1400 for Poms for Paula and Cancer Wellness Center of Northbrook.

The Power of Teamwork
Studio spirit is the collective energy, support, and enthusiasm that pulses through our dance studio, transforming it into a vibrant second home. It's the feeling of belonging that encourages every dancer, from their early days in our premiere programming to their senior year as a member of our graduating class, to walk through the doors with excitement and confidence. A strong studio spirit fosters a nurturing, non-judgmental environment where dancers feel safe to take creative risks, push past challenges, and genuinely celebrate the successes of their peers. It's the foundation of a healthy dance community, teaching students that the pursuit of art is a shared journey, not a solitary competition.
This powerful sense of unity brings tangible benefits that extend well beyond technique. When dancers are supportive of one another, they are more motivated, more resilient, and more likely to hold themselves accountable to the entire group. Studio spirit directly enhances the learning process by encouraging teamwork, effective communication, and trust. A cohesive community provides mentorship opportunities, where older students become role models for the younger ones, reinforcing a culture of respect and guidance. Ultimately, this collective camaraderie ensures that every student feels valued, turning their time at the studio into an enriching experience that builds not just great dancers, but great people.
At DMA, we believe that cultivating this spirit is a shared responsibility between dancers, families, and staff. We encourage all of our students to uphold the expectations of their grade level for the collective success and atmosphere of their class. When every dancer arrives prepared, focuses during class, and offers encouragement, they are actively strengthening the fabric of our studio family. By embracing kindness, dedication, and mutual support, we ensure that the positive energy of the studio shines brightest both on the stage and in our daily lives.
Metamorphosis is HERE!
The 2025 Metamorphosis; Fearless Evolution experience takes place November 14th-16th in Chicago!
DMA dancers should have received the DMA Guide to Metamorphosis: their one-stop shop for all of the information they need to know to be successful at this year’s event!
Metamorphosis is one of our favorite events each year. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from new instructors, meet new friends, and make lifelong memories with your peers. Every year, we are inspired to witness the fearlessness of our students as they step boldly and bravely into the new challenges and opportunities that await them at this event!
Trifecta Dance Collective
An evening of dance, music, and art at the Trifecta Dance Collective Annex. The event kicks off on Sat Nov 8 2025 at 6:00 PM CST. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to support Trifecta Dance Collective and experience their annual Salon Series.
