🩵 Studio Updates You Don’t Want to Miss 🩵

A QUICK LOOK BACK AT OCTOBER…

What a month! There were way too many amazing moments, memories, and snapshots to fit them all in one place, but here’s a little taste of JUST SOME of what our DMA family was up to in October!

🍁 🍂 🍁

Dress Code

Now that everyone is settling into their class routines, we're beginning to more consistently enforce DMA's dress code. Proper dance attire is an important part of training, allowing instructors to see alignment, make corrections, and help dancers get the most out of class.

A few general reminders: Leotards are required for most classes, and hair should always be neatly pulled back and out of the face. Please review the dress code below for your dancer's specific class requirements, including leotard colors, skirts or shorts, tights, hairstyles (including bun requirements), and appropriate footwear.

Dancers who are not in dress code will receive a reminder the first time. Repeated instances may result in being asked to sit out of class.

Thanks for helping us make sure our dancers come to class ready to learn, grow, and dance!

And don't forget! Looking extra sharp in dress code is just one of the ways dancers can earn one of our new DMA pins this season! From mastering a new move to showing kindness and more, these little rewards are a fun way to celebrate big and small accomplishments throughout the year!

So Much Information,
So Little Inbox Space!

We know that being part of a dance studio means juggling A LOT of information! Whether you've been in the dance world forever or you're still figuring out what it all means, keeping track of schedules, events, reminders, and everything in between can feel like a lot. Especially when you're balancing multiple classes, dance styles, activities, and everything else happening outside the studio!

We share all this information to help keep you informed and in the loop, but we also know it can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Email will always be our primary source of communication, but we want to give you as many tools as possible to stay organized and find what you need.

So, when your inbox starts looking a little like Mount Everest, here are a few other places you can turn to for the information you need!

Have you checked out our website lately? Our Studio News & Resources page might just become your new best friend!

Wait, Another Password?!

We know, it's hard enough to remember the passwords you already have! We promise we're not trying to give you one more thing to keep track of.

Password-protected pages are simply about keeping our dancers' information safe and making sure certain details aren't publicly accessible.

We're keeping passwords to a select few, primarily based on whether the information is company-specific or applies to the broader studio community.

Trust us, our brains are full too! We're doing our best to keep things as simple and streamlined as possible while making sure our kids' information stays protected.

Can't Find the Password? Just Ask!

Think you should have access to a page but don't know the password? Send us an email or ask your company ambassador! We always include passwords in the original emails we send, but we know how easily things can get buried in a busy inbox. If you can't find it, don't stress. Just ask, and we'll be happy to help!

Yet another important helpful page on the website:

Our Student Performance Info page:

DMA Partnership Spotlight:
Chicago Repertory Ballet

One of the things that makes DMA special is our direct partnerships with pre-professional and professional performing arts organizations. These relationships give our students a front-row seat to the world beyond the classroom, helping them see how the skills, technique, and artistry they're developing translate into real-world performance opportunities.

This week, we're shining a spotlight on one of those special relationships: our partnership with Chicago Repertory Ballet (CRB) and the exciting opportunities it creates for our dancers!

DMA Works:
Celebrating Our Dancers Beyond the Walls of our Studio!

It’s exciting to see our dancers take what they've built at DMA and shine on stages and in opportunities beyond our own walls.

We love sharing what our students are up to, and if you have a chance to catch one of them in action, even better! Check out the upcoming performances below and show some love for your fellow DMA dancers!

And one little note: We do our best to keep up with all the amazing things our students are doing, but there's a lot to celebrate! If we've inadvertently missed a performance, achievement, or opportunity your dancer is involved in, please reach out and let us know. We'd love to celebrate them, too!

Speaking of successes…

And there's even more to look forward to! Here's a peek at some of our other upcoming performances, along with ticket information…

Recital Information & Participation Forms – Due November 10!

By now, you should have received an email with recital information specific to your dancer, including their show name, performance and rehearsal times, and costume requirements (including any applicable rental or costume fees).

Please be sure to read your email carefully and complete the linked Google Form at the bottom of the email if your dancer will be participating.

All participation forms are due no later than Tuesday, November 10!

P.S. One More Place to Find Important Info!

We're also working on adding copies of important emails (like the recital information we just mentioned!) to the Shared Files section of your Studio Pro account. We're in the process of uploading everything now, with the hope that this will give you another easy place to find important information when your inbox starts burying things too deep.

But Wait…
There's Plenty Happening Before Recital!

We've talked a lot about what's coming up on stage, but there's still plenty happening in the studio right now! From special workshops to opportunities to try something new with drop-in classes available throughout the year, there's always something to explore at DMA!

Back by popular demand…

And don't forget! New this year at DMA, you can drop in for a class without committing to the entire season! Whether you're looking to try something new, explore a different dance style, or just add a little extra dancing to your week, drop-in classes make it easier than ever!
