Be a Super Supporter: Our Guide to Recital Etiquette
We are so excited to share the hard work and dedication of our talented performers with you! To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone – the dancers, their families, and fellow audience members – we kindly ask that you observe the following guidelines.
Arrival and Seating:
Please arrive on time to allow yourself ample time to park and find your seats. Due to time restraints, we have to start the performances on time.
Once the performance begins, please enter and exit the auditorium only during intermissions or designated breaks to minimize disruption.
Electronic Devices:
Absolutely no flash photography is permitted during the performance. Flash can be distracting and even dangerous for the performers.
Please ensure all cell phones and other electronic devices are switched to silent or vibrate mode for the duration of the show. Refrain from texting or talking on your phone in the auditorium. The light and noise can be distracting.
During the Performance:
Please remain seated throughout each act or piece.
Encourage children to remain seated and quiet during the performances. If a child becomes restless, please quietly step out of the auditorium.
Refrain from talking, whispering, or making other distracting noises during the performances. Please save conversations for intermission or after the show.
Show your appreciation with enthusiastic applause after each performance piece, not during.
Respect for Performers and Staff:
Please be respectful of all performers, regardless of their age or skill level. They have all worked incredibly hard this season and are proud to present their hard work.
Follow the instructions of recital staff. They are there to help ensure a smooth event.
Please do not go backstage or approach performers before, during, or after the show. We have a check out procedure in place.
Food and Drinks:
Please do not bring any outside food or drinks into the theater.
Post-Performance:
Please remain in your seats until the house lights come up and we instruct you with further steps for student pick-up/check out.
